We use Read Write Inc. (RWI) as our phonics programme to provide children with a secure foundation in early reading and writing. RWI is delivered through daily, systematic phonics lessons that develop decoding, fluency, comprehension and confidence in reading.
As children become fluent readers, the Ready Steady Write is used to further develop literacy skills, supporting pupils to write creatively and accurately for a range of purposes and audiences. Oracy and vocabulary development are embedded throughout our literacy teaching to strengthen communication skills.
